So, I've been like DYING to see the next episode of Othello, and it was finally on last night! Like, so far, we found out that Roderigo is also in love with Desedmona which throws a huge twist in the show, because like, what if something happens between them, you know? But anyway, in this episode, like, Iago's out to get Othello and has to take out Othello's lieutenant, Cassio first. So like the first 5 minutes is a huge party for Othello's arrival back from the war, but Cassio is unable to drink there because he has to stand guard, so that's a perfect opportunity for Iago to trick Roderigo into taking Iago's competition down. But like omg, Roderigo angers Cassio so badly that they end up fighting and Cassio gets so drunk, that Cassio actually stabs Montano. Like I couldn't even believe it! Realizing what he did, Cassio got really nervous that he was going to be fired and was so embarrassed about getting so drunk. He ends up yelling to Iago, "Reputation, reputation, reputation! Oh, I have lost my reputation!". So then Othello awakes to the madness going on outside, and he's really pissed, because he didn't get laid or anything, and Cassio ends up losing his job over over the whole thing. Idk, but if I were Othello, I wouldn't have been so hard on Cassio, he was just drunk, nbd. But I really can't wait to see the next episode! :D
Does this Rodrigo character not understand what he's up against? It's obvious that Iago is using him as a personal "dirty man", meaning that he's going to do all of Iagos dirty work so he doesn't look bad.
ReplyDelete^dude, I know, how could he not see it coming?
